Mascara Monday: Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara

This past week I was able to meet up with my mom for dinner. She asked me, "do you have false lashes on?" I didn't. It was this mascara.

I am more than pleased with the results from Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara. The brush grabbed ahold of my lashes, pumped up the volume and gave me great length. The best part, these results lasted through the entire day with no fallout.

The mascara retails for $19 at Sephora or Ulta. Tarte claims this mascara will increase volume by 406% and strengthen lashes. The wand includes a dense bristle brush. My only complaint is that the brush is  coarse. I'm willing to deal with that to achieve these results!

Influenster Summer VoxBox

Several weeks ago, I was invited to experience the Summer Influenster VoxBox. I was very excited to be able to participate again!

This season, there was a bit of a snafu. One product was not included in my box, thus the reason it is not pictured. I e-mailed Influenster and they were kind enough to send it to me!

Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy: This is a brand new drugstore line of hair care products. It claims to improve hair within seven days. I loved the scent but unfortunately, saw little difference in my hair. It did keep my tresses squeaky clean.

Quaker Soft Baked Bar in Banana Nut Bread: This bar is about as close to eating banana bread as you're gonna get. It was yummy!

Sally Hansen Magnetic Color: I had been dying to try this nail polish. If you want to see the amazing effect you get from the magnet, I posted a photo on instagram here.

Sally Hansen Nails and Cuticles Crème (not pictured): This was my late product. I have been using it for the past couple of days and have noticed some improvement in my cuticles.

Always Tampax Radiant: With the new packaging, you are able to reseal if the tampon is not needed. I love this concept! The colors are cheerful too.

Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration: Unfortunately, I have been stuck inside all summer and have not had the chance to try this one out. We plan on making a trip to the water park soon and I hope to use it there!

Mascara Monday: Fairy Drops Scandal Queen

Once in a while, I stumble upon a mascara with an interesting brush. Fairy Drops Scandal Queen is one of those finds.

According to Sephora's website this brush is "...so unique it is patented in Japan." The formulation is water proof and sweat proof. The mascara claims to define and lengthen lashes.

I enjoy the lengthening power but that is about it. What I disliked most about this mascara is the fall out and flakes that appeared on my face throughout the day. While the wand is a good concept in theory, it is difficult to reach the inner eye and lower lashes. Gobs of product builds on the wand, making it quite messy. Upon reading reviews on the Sephora website, it appears several ladies have similar experiences.

Birchbox: Month 7

The senses Birchbox: see it. hear it. taste it. touch it. smell it.

Color Club in Blue-Ming, value $4
Gloss Moderne High-Gloss Masque, value $4.87
Harvey Prince Eau Flirt, value ~6¢
Manna Kadar Sheer Glo Shimmer Lotion, value 29¢
suki Balancing Kit, value $13.53

Lärabar über

Total Value ~$22.75

This box includes many brands I have not heard of. I feel neutral about this box. It's not my best or my worst. Of the July Birchboxes I have seen, it appears we all received an array of items! I am jealous of those of you who received the Laura Geller Lipstick.

Was your Birchbox the same or completely different?

Mascara Monday: Stila Forever Your Curl

Hello fabulous readers!

For me, mascara is a must have makeup product. I cannot live without it. That is why I love doing these reviews. Let's face it, when we find a mascara we love it's the holy grail!

So, let's talk about Stila Forever Your Curl:

This mascara claims to have curl memory capabilities. The wand includes a velvety soft bristle brush that is shaped like a corn cob. The brush is compact, making it simple to use on lower lashes.

Without mascara:

With Stila Forever You Curl:

Surprisingly, I found this mascara not only to help with curling, it aids in volumizing. I am not wearing eyeliner but the mascara pumps up my lashes enough to appear as if I am!

The downside is for me, these results do not last all day. It is a bummer since it does such wonderful things for my lashes! Also, the shape of the brush builds up a lot of excess product on the tip. Overall, this is a mascara I enjoy but would not repurchase. I think there are less pricey drugstore alternatives that produce similar results.

Have you tried this mascara? What were your impressions?

What's in my Bag?

Good morning beauties!

Although the What's in my Bag? has been all over YouTube, I thought this would be a fun blog tag!

I bought this Coach bag (and a wallet) on super sale at Macy's this past spring. It is quite large and makes it easy to carry books, snacks and everything else I need throughout the day! We even used it as a carry-on for our honeymoon. I used the wallet as a clutch while we were exploring. I love simple bags that I do not have to switch from outfit to outfit! I generally carry the same bag for several months.

So, what's in my bag?

*Reading glasses
*Hand lotion (hotel steal)
*Sephora compact mirror
*Large sunglasses
*3 lips products: chapstick (Blistex), lipstick (NYC), lipgloss (Bath and Body Works)
*Coach wallet
*Hair tie
*Trident gum
*Pink Bic pen
*iPhone (yes, I was on the phone when I took this photo)

This is the norm for me. Many times I throw in a snack and a bottle of water.

Simple rules...show off your bag and its contents. Then, tag a couple of bloggers! Make sure to let them know they have been tagged!

Haul: Ulta and Target 7/5/12

Hello lovelies!

I am excited to share this haul with you because I scored a fantastic deal on some Laura Geller products at Ulta!!

Last week, Beauty Broadcast reviewed E.L.F. Hypershine Lipglosses. It had been years since I bought one so, I picked up a few at Target:

A friend of mine talked up beauty balms a couple of weeks ago. Since they have not popped up in my town ye,t I made sure to pick some up on my pilgrimage to Ulta:

Now onto my steal! A way to experience high end brands on the cheap is to buy kits. Generally, they are priced lower than purchasing the products individually and you get to try several items.

I was shocked when I found this kit of Laura Geller products that includes FIVE full-sized items reduced to $39.50!!!

This kit includes Blush-n-Brighten Baked Cheek Color, Spackle Tinted Under Make-Up Primer, Baked Marble Eyeshadow Duo, Balance-n-Brighten Baked Color Correcting Foundation and Waterproof Eye Spackle Advanced Eyeshadow Primer.

The kit is still available online and in stores for $39.50.

There is a $3.50 off coupon that would reduce this kit to $36. That is almost like buying the foundation and getting everything else free!

Use the code 84787 for free shipping
(order must be over $25)

I hope you can get in on this amazing deal too!
